Just an observation...

Okay, so I'm listening to the "Urban Valentine" station on Launchcast. I know, that's a bad move on my part seeing as how I'm the Grinch of Valentines Day. So what. They keep playing the same 6 songs on the R & B station, and I'll be damned if I pay to listen to Launchcast Plus just to get some different songs. To hell with that. $3 a month my ass... that shit adds up. Anyway. Onto my observation. Why have I only heard ONE real love song? And that was Quincy Jones' "You Put A Move on My Heart" featuring Tamia. I've been listening to this damn station for a hot ass 3 hours. All the songs have been by men beggin for their women to come back (eg: Boyz II Men: On Bended Knee and BBD: When Will I See You Smile Again... both of which I love dearly, but still), or love gone wrong (eg: Brandy f/ Wanya: Brokenhearted). Can't forget them Cheatin Ass Mo'Fo Songs (eg: The most OG: Atlantic Star: Secret Lovers). Oh and we can't forget the OG gangsta I'm A Sorry Ass [nigga or heffa, insert your choice] but You Still Took Me Back song: Reunited by Peaches and Herb. What we have here is a song about two silly ass folks who decided to get back together, because you know... them triflin men are the HARDEST to let go. She's sittin starin at the same ol' wall? Didn't come back to life until she got his call? She wants to jump through the telephone line? To give him what he wants so he could always be "mine"? Come ON Peaches! Where is your strength? Obviously you kicked his ass to the curb for a reason!! Fight the damn power! Fight the dick, dammit! Ugh. So yeah. I'm even more convinced that Black on Black (or in the words of Yahoo Music: Urban) love is rapidly approaching a mythical, twilight zone kinda state... like the shit only exists in far away remote parts of the country, for far away remote ass people. Places not including Los Angeles or anywhere in Michigan. It stopped existing tangibly after the 70's. I'm hella convinced. Thanks Launchcast, for validating my initial beef with this whole stupid holiday. Shit. I'm going back to work now. Edit: Well now they're playing Johnny Gill's "My My My". But then, he's just talking about how she looks, and how he wants to get down with her. So that shit ain't no love song either, its a Gimme The Ass song. My wrath still stands. Another Edit: Lawd hammercy... I've never even HEARD the Isaac Hayes rendition of "If Loving You is Wrong (I Don't Wanna Be Right)". DAMN that was freakin' scary as well as wrath inducing... everything about that man screams "Dead Presidents Soundtrack". Wow. My ammunition just continues to build, I tell you the truth. Last Damn Edit @ 1:21 pm: That damn Carribean Queen song is on now... these playlist organizers need HELP! Not to mention I can't hear that mess without hearing Leon's crazy ass singing it... lawd help me.

LMAO... OC, you're a nut homie! #1, that would NOT be funny if they started playing that lame ass Queen Latifah mess on here. I'd probably lose it. #2: I'm not gonna comment on your revenge tactics, LOL... but then they shouldn't leave their shit on the floor either. I'm hella glad I don't have to deal with that, LOL.

I think Valentine's Day is basically a marketing ploy. If there was no chocolate or flowers to sell, no one would give a shit.
