Uh oh...
I've got that weird feeling again. That overmedicated, slightly loaded, just coming out of anaesthesia, groggy ass, can't quite call it feeling. It feels too peaceful, and that usually means something is coming for my ass. Someone is gonna call me with some BS, or I'm gonna get an infuriating email, or something. I no longer see peace as just "peace". That shit is the lull before the storm. So as a result, I'm putting the guard up triple thick today. Anyway, I'm going to share something with you all today. I'm getting old. I know, I know. I too was in denial. But when my brother had to refresh my memory about who the travesty known as MC Ei.ht was, I realized it's all downhill from here. It ain't like Ei.ht is some kinda major celebrity. After DJ Q.uik dissed him ("you left the "G" out 'cha name 'cause the "G" ain't in you"), he kinda faded outta existence. But he's threatening a comeback... in the parking lot of a mini-mall thing in Carson offa Uni.versity Drive and Avalon Blvd. We'd sent Jr. out on a chinese food mission, and this nigga chirps me cracking up talkin' about MC Ei.ht just gave him a bootleg CD from the trunk of this 98 Impa.la, and was telling me how horrific it sounds. I'm all like, "Nigga, who?" Him: MC Ei.ht, pooh! Me: Man, who the hell is that? Him: What?!? You know, "One Time Gaffled 'Em Up", "Growin' Up In the Hood" offa the Boyz n The Hood Sdtk??? That nigga! Ugly braids, alleged crip? Come on Misty... Me: Oh yeah, that fool. Now this nigga was out when I was with my gang-bangin ass 'ex, so you know I shoulda remembered him. But I had a senior moment. Coincidence that it's happening more often now? No... I think not. Example 2: I'm ashamed to admit that I still like certain music. Unfortunately for me, S.noop Dog.g's "Drop it like it's Hot" is my new favorite song. My brother's fiance is 20, and he's 21. They love the shit outta that song, along with every other person under 22 that I know. Now usually I've got my Blue Magic, EW &F, Maze f/ Frankie Beverly, Dramatics, Bobby Womack, etc working. But damn if that song didn't come on while I was switching CD's and I started cuttin' up in the car. Then I felt all embarrassed, not because I was dancing and singing, but because it was Sn.oop Do.gg! Or should I say post-1994 Sn.oop D.ogg. A few years ago I was a devoted fan, and now I'm ashamed to admit that I still listen to this stuff. I've conformed and started listening to more Grown and Sexy music (for my L.A. folks, that means KJLH 102.3 kinda stuff). I was always an oldies fiend, but now I try to mix in the "smooth jazz" BS that's supposed to be relaxing, and the "mature" R & B like "Kindr.ed the F.amily S.oul" or whatever the hell they name is. And now I'm so brainwashed with the Curse of the Elderly that I hate 90% of the music by "213", 99% of the music played on Power 106, and I'm ashamed of Sn.oop D.ogg. Yes, my people, it is all downhill from here. I, The AA, SS, and MM, MiniMee-MistyMarie, Neighborhood Queen (Reigning Supreme) have declared it, so it must be so. Another way I know I'm old... I go to work... every damn day, and I like it (well, most of the time). I worry about taxes. I worry about my cholesterol. And yes, I watched the debate. And no, I'm not gonna blog about it. I'm sure that between Max, Reef, Panama, Henry, GC, TBNY and others I frequent daily, someone has taken care of that current event so I don't have to. I watched it, and it made me tired. So there. I did my part. I'm acting like some remnant of a responsible (boring) adult. Well lemme get my near-ancient ass to work. I tell you, I'mma turn around tomorrow and they'll be throwing me a retirement party. BOOOO.

Yep, got the debate business covered, and surely you must have some thoughts on it.
Hey Sir Henry, yeah, I do have some thoughts about the debate. But dammit, my thoughts on it even make me tired. I'll be a grown up on Monday. For now I'll just see what you & everyone else thought about it, :-).
Good lookin' out D, now I don't feel so bad anymore, LOL.
I knew Henry was going to break us in with a little political knowledge...I'll keep you posted
