Wonderful and beautiful....
Can't nobody ruin my day today. Nobody, you hear me?? Not an auditor, not any Echinacea wielding production idiots, not Junior, no one. Because this morning, I have the power. I was contemplating buying that Van Hunt dude's CD yesterday, but then I saw it. And many other's like it. What is it, you ask? I'll tell you, my dear subjects. It is the WDAS 105.3 fm presents: Classic Soul Hits: Volume 1-8. I only bought volume one, because I refuse to overspend (music and Nikes are the evil monkeys on my back). I saw one song and forgot my 4 song limit that I live and breathe by: Forever More, by Enchantment. Personally, I've been searching for the uncut version of this song for about 11 years (thanks to Kevin "Slo Jammin" James Sunday Night Slow Jam back in the 90's... my So. Cali folks probably remember him). What I've found is that hella folks was sleeping on Enchantment. Even Pops was like "Who is that, Pooh?" I formally revoked his Honorary 1970's Membership Card. Now he and my ex-boss are in 70's exile (he didn't believe that LTD made that song "April Love". I had to banish him as a direct result). Anyway, that song, plus Magic Man by Robert Winters & Fall sold me. I ran outta there with that CD and Golden Time of Day (reissued in the states, I guess) by Frankie Beverly and Maze. Now all y'all new bootys ain't gonna know about that. But if you had parents who were deep into the Hood Style BBQ culture like mine, I know some of this sounds familiar. FB & M has graced every BBQ I can remember from the time I was about 4. So I can't help myself. Yes, that is why I am going to have the most unfadeable day ever. I'll bet you wish you could have the most unfadeable day ever too. But alas, I cannot give you everything, my people. I already previewed my Anti-The Man Workplace Kit, must I hand over my oldies too? I simply cannot. Therefore, the mandate for today is bask in MY unfadeable happiness. Because without these two supremely sexy, oldies-filled CD's you probably will only acheive a smidget of the afro-love and happiness in comparison to mine. Yes, all must feel the oldies love that you do not possess. Just borrow some of mine. There. Don't ever say I never gave y'all nothin'. Oh yeah, and eat at Carls Jr. today, because I'm dope fiendin' for a famous star and some criss-cut fries. Damn. So early in the morning too. I might not make it to lunch. Oh well. That is all. The Neighborhood Queen has mandated it, and it shall be so. Carry on. Edit at 12:15 p.m.: Pizzahut.com is the eternal shit! That is all.
